Gwinnett Pearls of Service, along with Upsilon Alpha Omega, offers a variety of scholarships to students to further their educational opportunities.  It is the chapter’s goal to promote post-secondary educational, small business, and community organization endeavors.

I. Beauty P. Baldwin Scholarship

This scholarship was named in honor of one of our chartering members, Mrs. Beauty P. Baldwin. Thus far, we have awarded nearly $100,000 in scholarships to college-bound freshman. Qualifications:

  • Must be of African-American descent
  • Must already be accepted to an accredited four-year college or university
  • Must possess leadership potential and good character
  • Must demonstrate superior scholastic achievement
  • Must be a Gwinnett County Resident

II. Debutante Cotillion Scholarship

Awarded to participants in the Upsilon Alpha Omega Debutante Cotillion program. The scholarship is awarded every even year. Learn more about the program. Qualifications:

  • Must classify as a junior or senior in high school or home school
  • Must possess a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (C+) or better on a four-point scale
  • Must exhibit high moral and ethical standards (unmarried and no children)
  • Must possess leadership potential and good character

III. McGruder-Smith Undergraduate Scholarship

The McGruder-Smith Ungergraduate Scholarship named after two UAO charter members who have devoted their life to educating students is offered to  undergraduate Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated members at Oglethorpe University.

IV. Theresa Dove-Waters Scholarship

V. Economic Success = Partnership Business Grant

The UAO Business/Organization Grant is a prestigious Economic Success = Partnership Grant. The grants are awarded at specific business or community organization networking events. WE ARE NOT OFFERING THIS SCHOLARSHIP AT THIS TIME.
